The Gallery will be open for member functions at least twice a month on announced evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m, reservation required. Please check your newsletter for information about the monthly openings.

No person shall be permitted into grills, ballroom or gallery unless properly attired.

Males must wear sleeved shirts and must wear slacks or shorts. Coats may be required in designated dining events.

Women must wear slacks, shorts or skirts.

Muscle shirts, gym shorts, tank tops, swim suits, or cutoffs are prohibited.

Food services will close at 7:00 p.m.  All food orders must be submitted 15 minutes before closing.

Members desiring to use the Clubhouse for private entertainment,

which will occupy the entire ballroom, will be charged a minimum

food and drink fee (check with the director of food and beverage

for charges). Management must approve use of the Clubhouse

for functions that are not private entertainment.

All food, with the exception of specialty cakes brought in specifically for the function, remaining after a function is the possession of East Ridge Country Club and may not be taken from the club.

A.   Dining:    Although seating is usually available, it is good practice to make reservations to insure the table of your choice. It is required that groups of 8 or more make reservations.

B.   Member Functions:   Reservations are required for all member functions. A cut off date for reservations is given for each event. Failure to cancel or adjust reservations prior to the day of a member function will result in an automatic charge of one half of the fee for the function. The club reserves the right to assign seating for major functions.

Members are liable for any property damaged or removed by

them from the house and grounds.  Also, members are responsible for all acts

committed by their guests.

A.  Members must sign tickets for all goods and services at the club. Members must sign their name and number on all tickets at the time of purchase.

B.  Locker room attendants, who provide materials for shoe shining, etc., may be paid in cash by the member.

C.   A 15% service charge will be added to ALA -Carte food and beverage purchased.   A 19% service charge will be added to all banquet food and beverage.

D.   A member failing to pay his bill within 30 days after it is rendered will have a 10% per month penalty added, and after an additional period of fifteen days without payment shall be considered delinquent and lose Club privileges with  dues, assessments, and penalties continuing to accrue. Club membership shall be terminated if delinquency cannot be paid in full within 15 days thereafter.

A.   The club employees shall not be required to attend to any duties other than those pertaining to their normal duties as outlined in their job descriptions. They shall not be requested to run errands or perform other services outside the scope of their normal duties.

B.  Slow, unsatisfactory, or improper service should be reported to the appropriate manager. If not resolved, complaints of a more serious nature should be made to the General Manager and to the house committee in writing.

C.  The club shall not employ children of the club employees and  members except by the approval of the board of directors.

Any member of the club may introduce and must accompany their local guests at the club a maximum of twelve times in a calendar year and not to exceed two times in a calendar month.   Local guests are those that reside within 30 miles of 1000 Stewart Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. The management may extend special exceptions to the local guest policy guidelines with Board of Directors approval.

Any member of the club may introduce a non-resident as a guest for a period of up to ten days, by requesting the General Manager to issue a guest card. The member requesting the guest card will be responsible for all charges incurred.

A.  Pending availability, lockers will be furnished to members by application with the Locker Room Attendant.  A fee will be billed on monthly statements.

B.   Shoe shine, spike replacement and shoestring services are also available in the locker room. Shoes left in the locker room unattended after 6:00p.m. become the responsibility of the owner.

1.  In accordance with the Louisiana liquor laws, East Ridge Country Club employees will not sell, give or serve liquor to minors.  If there is doubt as to age, employees shall require proof of age, prior to service.

2.  The Men’s Grill is for use of members at least 18 years of age. Children under the age of 18 may use the locker rooms when accompanied by an adult.

3.  Domestic animals, other than guide dogs shall not be allowed on the club property.

4.  The owner of any motor-driven vehicle, except golf carts, including motorcycles, motorbikes, mini-bikes, or motor scooters of any description, shall, in operating such vehicle on Club property, abide by the same rules that apply to an automobile; that is, such vehicles shall not be operated on walks nor the golf course. Failure to obey this law will result in owners of such vehicles being barred from the club premises and/or being fined.

5.  Parents shall be responsible for the conduct of their children at all times.

6. No member or guest shall interfere with the management of the club. No member shall reprimand or discipline an employee of the club. This responsibility lies with club management.

7.  Any member who conducts themselves in an UNbecoming manner, or who knowingly violates a rule of the club may be denied service or may have his/her membership terminated or suspended.

      a. Out of town children/grandchildren of members. Members

           may request a guest card from the general manager. There is

           no charge for this card. The guest card allows grandchildren

           pool and charge privileges for two weeks.

      b.  A fee will apply for special parties. All food and beverage,

           other than cake, must be purchased from the club.

           Arrangements must be made in advance with the food and

           beverage manager. Additional lifeguards may be necessary

           based on the age and the swimming ability of the guests.

2. Running around the pool deck is prohibited.

3.  Diving from the deck of the pool into the shallow end of the pool is  

       prohibited.

4.  Persons with skin disorders or other infections must not enter the pool.

5.  More than one person on the diving board at one time is prohibited.

6.  No glass is permitted in the pool area.

7.   The club will not be responsible for any belongings or apparel left

       at the pool or in the pool buildings.

8.  Persons in only bathing attire are not to venture outside of the 

       designated pool area.

9.   Members should not fraternize or distract the lifeguards on duty.

10. The area around the lifeguard stands outlined with yellow paint

        should not be obstructed at any time.

11.  The pool will be closed when instructed and there will be no swimming  

        without a lifeguard present.

12. The pool will be closed any time that weather prevents safe swimming

         conditions. Lifeguards will re-open the pool immediately after the

         inclement weather has passed.

13.  Dogs and other pets,other than guide dogs, are not allowed in the pool area.

14. All incidents or accidents must be immediately reported to the

         lifeguards. While the club will provide lifeguards and do

         everything possible to promote safety of the swimmers, it assumes

         no responsibility for injury or death in connection with the swimming pool.

15. No child eight years or under shall be allowed in the pool area at

         any time unless accompanied by an adult or other responsible person.

         This is the parent’s responsibility as it is impossible for lifeguards to

         maintain the constant supervision required with small children.

16. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules. Any actions    

          imposing  on the rights and safety of others will not be tolerated.

17. Beach towels, various water toys, and games are available for the

         members enjoyment while at the pool. Members are required to

         check these items in and out. Failure to return these items will result in a f

         fee being charged to the members account.

18. Complaints or suggestions should be made to the pool manager,

         and if not resolved, put into writing to the Swim and Youth Committee.

1. No person will be permitted to use the tennis courts without proper

attire. Proper attire shall consist of flat sole regulation tennis shoes. Spikes,

basketball shoes, and high-heeled shoes are prohibited. Tennis shorts and shirts

 are required.  Men must wear shirts while playing tennis. Tank tops, cut-offs,

and swimsuits, as outer garments are not proper attire.

2. No food, drinks, or chairs are allowed on the tennis courts.

3. Players are required to register and abide by the court rules posted

at the tennis courts.

4. In all instances, rules of common courtesy and good sportsmanship

will govern.

To provide court facilities to all members on a fair and equitable

basis while providing a tennis program encompassing all levels of play.

         a. All members shall clock in except as covered by authorized

            leagues, tournaments or other special events.

         b. Guests shall be clocked in at all times, including when playing

            in a Club sanctioned tournament with entry fee, such as the

            Senior’s Tournament or the Member-Guest Tournament.

         c. Clocking time shall be for 1.5 hours for doubles and singles.

         d. No re-clocking in shall be permitted prior to the lapse of 1.5

            hours from the last time shown on the card. 1.0 hours on Court 8.

         e. Persons not clocked in shall be subject to immediate bumping.

         f. Waiting slots are available when all courts are busy.

         a. Guest Fees are established by the Board of Directors (see

            current fee schedule in appendix). A member may entertain a

            tennis guest by obtaining a day guest card from the General

            Manager. Resident non-members will be restricted to twice

            per month as a guest of the tennis facility.

         b. All guests playing the courts must be clocked in and shown as

              guests of a member or the Pro.

         c. The Pro shall be permitted to bring non-lesson guests for play

            with him without charge.

         d. Guests taking lessons from the Pro shall be subject to a

            surcharge. Surcharge payments shall be made to the Club

            except when billing agreements with other Clubs are in

            existence (see current fee schedule in appendix).

         e.   Guest children in the Junior Program shall be subject to a

            monthly Court Charge in excess of the program fees. The Pro

            will provide a monthly list to the office (see current fee schedule in

            appendix).

         f. Persons not signing in known guests will be subject to billing

            by the Club when reported by the Pro, another member of the

            staff or a member of the Tennis Committee.

         g. Members will assist the staff in the identification of players.

         h. Guests wishing to practice on ERCC courts for an East Ridge

            Country Club sponsored Tournament at East Ridge are subject

            to guest fees unless specifically covered in the entry blank. In

            such a case, the Club will charge a pre-determined court

            surcharge from the entry fee.

         i. Variation to the above rules shall be permitted by approval of

            the Tennis Committee.

Court 5 shall be considered the Pro’s teaching court. It can be

used by others but the Pro retains bumping rights on it. Other

courts may of course be used by the Pro on a clock in basis.

Junior players (18 and under) shall have priority on Court 8 at all

times. On all other courts they shall be subject to bumping by

member adults at all times.

Such events sponsored by the Tennis Committee will be given

priority. Member groups and guests sponsored by a member shall

be granted reserved court time only with the approval of the

Tennis Committee, subject to veto by the Club Board of Directors.

Non-reserve guest times shall be subject to clocking and bumping.

Priority Status is the right to use courts as required to carry out

the objectives of the approved event or group. These are normally

4 soft courts or 4 hard courts when soft are unplayable. Within the

context of this set of guidelines, 10 hours per week are so involved.

Men’s groups authorized Priority Status are as follows:

Tuesday: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Mens C Players

Thursday: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Mens B Players

Players in the B group shall be selected by team captains, when

league play is in force. When league play is not in force, all men

shall be eligible to play in scrambles; men not involved in the

scrambles or leagues will not have Priority Status and be subjected

to normal clocking procedures if courts are available. Players in

the C group shall normally consist of those not playing regularly in

the B group. Groups shall be determined as Leagues are formed

or the format of the play changes, normally 3 times a year.

Women’s groups authorized Priority Status are as follows:

Tuesday and Friday:

a. Schedule, Format, Players

The schedule for the above times are as follows:

January – March:   9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

July – August:   8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Other Months:   9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This schedule shall be posted on the tennis bulletin board.

b. The format of play shall be determined by the Ladies’ Tennis Association.

c. When groups are separated by Level of Play, players in these groups shall be

    recommended by the Ladies’ Tennis Association, the Tennis Pro, and

    approved by the Tennis Chairman. Intracity Play at East Ridge Country Club

    shall be given Priority Status to the extent of approximately 50 percent of

    matches scheduled. Such matches shall be posted 2 weeks in advance. The

    above will be subject to change by the Tennis Committee.

For a group to be considered for Priority Status, the group shall be open to all

Club members and adequately advertised well in advance of proposed play.

These groups shall function under the approval and supervision of the Tennis

Committee. Classification of players shall be determined by the Tennis

Professional.

15. There shall be no groups of a closed private nature authorized Priority

Status. Such groups shall be subject to normal clocking in procedures and

bumping.

The golf course will be closed on Monday, except for outside

tournaments approved by the Board of Directors.

The Golf Shop opens as follows:

Weekdays Weekends

April 1 – Sept. 30 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

October 1 – March 31 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Play is not allowed before the Golf Shop opens to facilitate golf course

maintenance.

a. All children ten (10) years of age and under must be

accompanied by an adult at all times, unless they have passed a

playing and rules competency test.

b. All juniors eleven (11) to seventeen (17) years of age are

limited to playing the golf course during the following times:

Tuesdays After 2:00 p.m.

Wednesdays Before 11:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.

Thursdays Before 11:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.

Fridays Before 11:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.

Saturdays After 2:00 p.m.

Sundays Before 11:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.

Holidays Before 11:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.

Juniors may play at other times if accompanied by an adult.

c. All Junior Golfers must gain permission from the Golf Pro at all

times before teeing off. The Golf Pro has complete discretion

over junior play and encouraged to permit junior players to play

to the extent that will not inconvenience membership play.

No person shall be permitted to play golf, use the putting green or

practice green unless properly attired. Male golfers must wear

sleeved shirts with a collar. They may wear slacks or shorts.

Women may wear slacks, shorts or skirts. Muscle shirts, tank

tops, gym shorts, swim suits, or cutoffs are prohibited. Further, high heel

shoes are forbidden on any area of the golf course. Softspikes only

on golf courses.

1. Golf carts shall be one or two passenger electric carts, and

must remain on cart path at all par threes and other designated

holes as marked by course signage.

2. Golf carts must stay on the cart paths except when going

to a ball location, in which case the cart may be driven at a

right angle to the first player’s ball. The cart may proceed to

the next player’s ball and then return to the cart path. The same

procedure may be used for remainder of hole.

3. All carts must return to cart path at least 30 yards of the green

and stay on cart paths at all tee boxes.

4. In the event conditions on the golf course are such that

damage to the course would result from golf cart traffic, the

Golf Professional and the Course Superintendent will place

signs on the first tee directing that carts must remain on the

cart paths at all times. Handicap flags are restricted to cart

paths under such conditions.

5. Golf carts will be rented only to persons with a driver’s license.

The person or persons to which the golf cart is rented is totally

responsible for any damage to the golf cart, passengers, other

people and property, which is on East Ridge Country Club property.

Golf cars shall not leave ERCC property during this rental period.

6. A maximum of two riders and two golf bags are permitted on a

golf cart unless authorized by the Golf Professional.

7. Golf carts must be reserved in person and not more than one

hour prior to starting time unless authorized by the Golf

Professional.

8. Pull carts shall not be pulled within ten (10) feet of closely

mowed areas of tee boxes, greens, or through sand traps.

9. Private ownership of carts will not be permitted at ERCC.
10. Members on the Cart plan must pay a cart fee for any guest.
11. Any member wishing to enroll in the yearly Cart Plan must

enroll by January 1. No application will be accepted after

January 1, with the exception of new members.

12. Any member enrolled in the Cart Plan is entitled to share a cart

if it is a twosome and a whole cart in the event of a threesome

or fivesome.

13. On the Cart Plan if someone rides with a member whether they

play golf or not they pay a cart fee.

14. Tournament carts are not included for major Club sponsored

tournaments for those on the Cart Plan.

15. In the event a member on the Cart Plan has paid in full and

meets an untimely death the heirs would receive a prorated

portion of the fee.

16. In the event a situation arises that has not been covered in the

above policy, it will be forwarded to the Greens Committee for

a decision.

17. Cart Rules for Handicap Red Flag Use:
1. Anyone requiring use of a red flag will need to present a doctor’s statement for BOD review.
2. Anyone using a red flag must stay on the cart path at tee box.
3. Anyone using a red flag must stay at least 10 yards off the green.
4. If (2) two red flags are in a foursome, must ride together.
5. 90-degree rule, as described in 4b above, must be used when possible.
6. When carts are restricted to cart paths due to wet conditions, as designated in 4d above, red flag will not be issued.
18. Golf Cart infractions will be administered as follows:
1. Failure to abide by the rules will result in a first time warning, second violation will receive a written notice from the BOD, a $50 penalty will be accessed for the third offense.
2. Further violations will be addressed by the BOD for possibility of 6-month suspension of cart privileges.

a. Group play in excess of fivesomes is not permitted.

b. Foursomes or fivesomes are required on Saturday, Sunday, on

holidays, unless, at the discretion of the Golf Professional, a lesser
number would not interfere with normal play.

c. Family play will be permitted on Memorial Day, Independence

Day, and Labor Day, when the holiday is celebrated on a

Monday.

a. Tee times must be reserved at all times. Reservations for tee

times will be made by telephone only, except on the day of

play. Tee times are scheduled at eight or nine intervals.

When to make tee times:

Tuesday call Friday morning

Thursday call Tuesday morning

Friday call Wednesday morning

Saturday call Thursday morning

Sunday call Friday morning

Holiday: Memorial Day and Labor Day

b. Standing reservations are forbidden.

c. Write-in circle times may be reserved only on the day of play

and must be reserved in person except for Saturday circle

times, which will be given out at the 6:00p.m. to 6:30p.m.

Friday in Golf Shop. Telephone reservations for the remainder

of Saturday circle times will be given from 6:30p.m. to

7:00p.m.

d. Starting shall be under the supervision and control of the Golf

Professional.

Driving Range closes at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 1st until

October 31st for cleaning in order to mow on Monday. (Exceptions

are Monday opening). When practicing or receiving instruction,

the practice area, practice green and putting green shall be used.

Pitch shots are not allowed onto the Clubhouse putting green. Use

of the fairways, greens, or tees for practice or instruction is

forbidden except when accompanied by the Golf Professional or his

designated assistant.

a. A member may introduce and entertain a guest at golf, upon

payment of the scheduled fees. The member extending the

invitation must accompany and register his/her guest at the golf

shop.

b. This rule does not apply to non-resident guests with a guest

card. A member may entertain on request of an out-of-town

houseguest by obtaining from the Club office a ten day guest

card.

c. In-town or local guests are permitted at all times upon

payment of the required guest fee provided such guest is

accompanied by, and plays in the same group as the member who

invited the guest.

a. Members and guests shall register in the Golf Shop before

starting play.

b. Play shall start on No. 1 tee, unless authorized by the Golf

Professional.

c. Any group permitted to start on No. 10 tee will not be allowed to

complete their round unless they have an established tee

time for the #1 tee.

d. "Mulligans" are not permitted on Saturday or Sunday, if Golf

Professional deems necessary, to maintain starting pace.

e. Slow or inexperienced players or those players looking for a lost

ball shall signal the following players to play through and wait

until they are out of range before resuming play.

f. It shall be the duty of the players who lose in distance more than

one clear hole on players in front to stop and signal the players

behind to play through. East Ridge Country Club works to

maintain a 4 hour pace for a play. The golf professionals are in

charge of marshalling the pace of play. If necessary they are

expected to inform all members of how they stand to the 4 hour

pace. Please be understanding to the marshals for their efforts will

make ERCC more enjoyable.

g. A group or person spending more than five minutes in the Grill

after completing the first nine holes, automatically loses position

and must wait until the No. 10 tee is clear before resuming play.

h. Players are requested to post all eighteen-hole scores to insure a

fair and accurate handicap. The Handicap Committee has the lesser
number would not interfere with normal play. The Handicap
Committee has the right to post a score of 5 shots below the players
handicap for an improper postings, a non posted score, or multiple
posting without golf shops knowledge.

Paper cups and other trash shall be placed in receptacles provided

for that purpose. You are encouraged to pick up any unsightly

trash to keep the course attractive.

b. It is the duty and obligation of the Golf Professional to report

all rule violations to the General Manager.

c. Paragraphs 2, 4a, and 4f, 5a, 5c, and 9 b-h, may be deviated

from if, in the discretion of the Golf Professional, it will not

infringe upon the rights of any member or group of members

protected by the specific rule governing the situation.

12. The Golf Professionals will oversee operations of the shop and

shall offer golf instructions at reasonable rates to the members.
